Unless the U.S. collapses, the historical answer has been yes. The question is what your time frame is. I advocate for a time frame of at least 20 years. During that time, 10 years of it could be a down market. But if you hold long enough, and the U.S. continues to exist, the probability the market will have gone up since the time you invested is high.
