This promotion was not a scam — Yahoo and other reputable outlets have reported that many got their suit. It also took place in 2017, before TikTok was established, and featured a single photo (the one used in the article) rather than many photos of real people. This was also one of their first products.

Finally, from what I can see, they actively respond to customer inquiries on social media.

That said, I’m sorry to hear your daughter was scammed. You are correct that there are too many shady promotions going around on social media these days.
