In most cases, you should have the capital on hand before you launch, but you can also run your campaign as a pre-order, collect all the revenue, then pay your manufacturer so they can start production. That way your customers know it’s going to be a while before their product arrives.

I see where you’re coming from re: advertising. The reality is that companies have been using these tactics for decades if not centuries. Macy’s, for example, is always running a 24 hour or 48 hour sale. Like you mentioned, it’s our job to educate ourselves on how marketing works, especially when it comes to non-essential items like swimsuits.
