It’s easy to find tips on how to beat writer’s block.

Freewrite. Set a writing schedule. Take a nap.

All well-meaning strategies. But all fail to address the root cause.

“Writer’s block” isn’t a mental problem. It’s a physical one. You’re having trouble writing because there isn’t enough blood flowing to your brain.

I used to get intense writer’s block. I would sit down at my computer and produce nothing for days. Not a single letter. Zero. Zilch. Nada.

Then I started taking 30 minute walks, and it changed my life.

Walking unleashes my creativity unlike anything else. Every day I come back from my morning stroll with more ideas than my short term memory can hold.

The point of this article is simple: the next time you’re in a creative rut, just go for a walk.

It’s the only strategy you’ll ever need.

“Writer’s Block” is a Misnomer

Look at this way.
